Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay

Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, fnhs, the Okiroro of Isoko Nation, former Secretary to Delta State Government and Chairman Macaulay Foundation, is a Nigerian farmer, businessman, a great philanthropist and politician.

He was born October 25, 1960, in Oguta in present day Imo State, into the family of late Mr & Mrs Macaulay Ubogu but hails from Owhelogbo, in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Comrade (Chief) O.S. Macaulay  is a highly educated man and takes education seriously. He holds a Certificate from Harvard Business School, USA, Leadership Certificate from Oxford Leadership School, UK. An M.Sc and B.Sc. degree in Mass Communications from Enugu State University of Science and technology (ESUT), respectively.

He has been instrumental in the delivery of dividends of democracy to Deltans. His first foray into the political space was as Commissioner for Inter-Ethnic Relations and Conflict Resolution and thereafter Chief of Staff in Government House. He later became the Commissioner for Power and Energy before he was appointed as SSG in 2011.

Comrade Macaulay is a great philanthropist and has a very large heart for charity works. He has been using his NGO Macaulay Foundation to assist over 1000 widows, Orphans, and vulnerable children yearly. It is as though philanthropy and charity work flows through his veins. The former SSG has given out countless scholarships to students at Secondary, Higher Institutions of learning.

Due to his visible role in the delivery of dividends of democracy to Deltans, his quest for the development of the entire State and Humanitarian services across Isoko Nation, Delta and Nigeria at large, Isoko Traditional Rulers at the Palace of HRM Romanus Inana, Okpuzo I, the Odiologbo of Owhe Clan, conferred on him a Chieftaincy title; “The Okiroro of Isoko Nation”, at the end of his tenure as SSG in 2015. He has also bagged several Humanitarian services Awards from various Organisations and Churches across the country. The most recent coming from the Catholic Diocese of Minna in Niger State.

Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay is happily married to Mrs. Amaka Nwabue Ovuozourie Macaulay. He is a father of Eight biological Children and a good number of adopted children.

The former SSG’s personal philosophy is summed up as follows: To leave a legacy through loyalty & service to humanity. A very humble man.
